A Sunday morning lumber delivery from Lowes (March 13.)

Pushing the lumber into the garage with a forklift.

Installation of the first floor joist (with lateral blocking on 48" centers)

Beam bolted into existing wall using lag bolts. 2x12 joists will hang from Simpson Strong Tie top-flange joist hangers. (I had to special order these
– neither Lowes nor Home Depot stocks these hangers in the size I needed.

I had the Lowe's delivery guys carry this window unit and interior French door unit up my twisting staircase for safe storage in my office. The window was a custom order, but the French doors are stock – from the Lowe's warehouse floor. |
